What Is Automated Remediation?

Home » FAQs » Remediation » What Is Automated Remediation?

Automated remediation is the use of software to fix security findings, or to move them toward a fix, without manual steps at each stage. At the simplest level it covers work such as mapping a finding to its owner, opening a ticket with fix instructions, and closing that ticket when a rescan confirms the issue is gone. At the most advanced level, the system applies the fix itself.

Full auto-remediation is not right for every finding. A fix that needs a reboot, heavy regression testing, or changes to a fragile production system still deserves a human decision. Seemplicity’s published position is that auto-remediation should be reserved for fixes that are both risky enough to matter and safe enough to deploy without a human gatekeeper, with everything else routed to the right person with full context.

Most of the time savings come from automating the coordination around the fix. Seemplicity’s Agentic Workforce handles ownership mapping, ticket routing, and step-by-step fix guidance, and syncs status with Jira and ServiceNow. Across customers, that automation saves an average of 33,000 hours per year.
